As a kid, I grew up building Lego BIONICLE sets and Gundam models. From there, my interest in robotics grew, but I never pursued this interest, aside from going to a few robotics events.
One of these events was Robot Revolution at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Oregon. Robot Revolution is a robotics exhibit that showcases the different ways that robotics is used in healthcare, transportation, and other industries. Read more about the exhibit at http://robotrevolution.com/.
There was also a workspace where the museum goers could observe the robotics team fixing and updating the robots. I talked to Adrian Choy, the Lead Robotics Specialist, and Adrian gave me a handout with programming and robotics resources.
The exhibit inspired a few ideas for what I plan to build, since I’m taking an Arduino class in a few months. In the meantime, I’ll keep brainstorming Arduino project ideas based on problems and inefficiencies that I face at work and at home.
