New Year New Country

It might be too late to talk about the New Year, but I wanted to share some of my new experiences from the past few months. For the most part, I don’t really play into the ‘New Year, New You!’ [easily forgotten and rarely acted upon] resolutions. I set goals for myself all year long, but sometimes, a new year can truly be a catalyst for making some changes in one’s life.

I am excited that I am now a full-time traveler. I’ve been planning this for months, and now I’m currently in Central America. I plan to mix short- and long-term travel, but I’m partial to staying put for longer periods of time so that I can get to know the people, the languages, and the locations better.

Some of my other (less exciting for you) first time experiences:

  • Rode the bus in another country. Walking or taking the subway are my preferred methods of transport. Something about riding the bus outside of the US has been off-putting for me, but I might enjoy riding the bus as much as riding the subway
  • Cooked with an induction cooktop and loved it! It heats up much faster than a stove top. I can’t wait to purchase one for when I settle down again

I hope your 2018 is off to a great start!

What are some of your new experiences so far? What are some new experiences that you have planned for this year?
